According to a statement released by the Crown Prosecution service (CPS) on Wednesday, British-American social media influencer Andrew Tate has been formally charged with a number of severe crimes in the United Kingdom. Rape, actual bodily damage, human trafficking, and trafficking someone into prostitution for profit are the offenses. Three complainants are the targets of the accusations.

The CPS said that these charges were approved before an extradition request was submitted in 2024 in an attempt to repatriate Tate from romania to the United Kingdom.  His extradition had been approved by Romanian courts.  However, Tate is presently facing separate criminal proceedings in romania, which must be resolved before the extradition process can start.

Tristan Tate, Andrew's younger brother, is also facing legal issues.  He has been charged with eleven offenses against one complainant, including human trafficking, rape, and actual bodily harm.

Tristan Tate and Andrew Tate have consistently denied any wrongdoing.  A representative for the brothers declined to comment on the most recent development.

The brothers' travel prohibition was lifted by Romanian officials in early 2024, allowing them to visit the US for a short time in February. The following month, they went back to romania to complete outstanding legal obligations.  In addition to the criminal prosecution, four women are suing Andrew Tate in a civil case in the UK. In 2027, that civil action is scheduled to go to trial. Tate has also refuted the claims of sexual abuse and coercive behavior made in the civil case.

Former professional kickboxer Andrew Tate is now well-known on the internet for promoting a hypermasculine lifestyle and frequently making offensive remarks, particularly about women. His online behavior has drawn widespread criticism and sparked global conversations about internet influence and misogyny.

The outspoken influencer is facing criminal charges in the UK, the most recent in a string of court battles with the contentious individual.
