The indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) has confirmed that this new strain is fast-spreading and highly variable. However, the ICMR has also stated that it causes only mild illness. The symptoms of this virus are almost similar to those of the common flu (seasonal flu). However, health experts advise people to be vigilant, maintain personal hygiene, and get tested if they experience symptoms.
