President donald trump has said that the united states is working on a trade deal with india and that this deal will provide more opportunities for American companies in indian markets. trump recently announced that he has signed a new trade deal with Indonesia. Accordingly, the tax levied on Indonesian exports has been reduced from 32% to 19%. US President donald trump, while talking about the trade deal signed with indonesia, said that the united states is planning to implement a similar agreement with India. He further said, "We have signed an agreement with Indonesia. indonesia is a strong country in cotton and copper. But now we have full permission without any restrictions. As a result, we no longer have to pay any taxes. They are giving us opportunities that we never had before. This is the main feature of this agreement. india is also working in the same way."
Similarly, we are now going to enter the indian market. Until now, we did not have any permission in these countries. Our workers and companies could not go there. "But now, with the measures we are taking with taxes, we are able to get this kind of approval," he said. That is, opportunities for American companies to enter the indian market are emerging through this new agreement. trump has said that the main reason for this is the US tax. In the context of President Trump's remarks, indian Commerce Ministry officials are camped in the US for trade agreement negotiations. Speaking in this regard, Union minister Piyush Goyal said, "Negotiations on the India-US trade agreement are progressing rapidly. "Negotiations are underway to create a trade agreement that will benefit both sides in a situation of mutual cooperation between india and the US," he said.
Meanwhile, a Bloomberg news report published last week said that the trump administration is considering some relaxations in the trade agreement with india and that the 26% tax announced in april is likely to be reduced to 20%. Meanwhile, President trump has announced that reciprocal tariffs will come into effect from august 1.

Since last week, the trump administration has been sending tax-related letters to many US trading partners. So far, more than 20 countries have received such tax letters. india is the only country that has not received any letters so far. This may be because the trade agreement negotiations between india and the US are currently ongoing, and progress is being made.
