Tamil Nadu health minister Ma. Subramanian has made an important announcement regarding the much-anticipated opening of the Saidapet–Teynampet flyover in Chennai. Addressing public concerns over traffic congestion in the area, the minister provided an update on the status of the project and its expected inauguration.
The Saidapet–Teynampet flyover is a crucial infrastructure project aimed at easing traffic flow between key parts of the city, particularly benefiting daily commuters traveling between South chennai and central business districts. Once opened, the flyover is expected to significantly reduce travel time and traffic bottlenecks in the surrounding areas.
According to minister Ma. Subramanian, the construction work is nearing completion, and final-stage works such as safety inspections, road markings, and lighting installations are currently underway. He assured the public that the flyover would be opened for public use soon, following the completion of all necessary technical and safety procedures.
The minister emphasized that the state government is committed to ensuring quality and safety in all infrastructure projects. He stated that the delay, if any, was only to ensure long-term durability and commuter safety.
Residents and motorists have welcomed the announcement, expressing hope that the flyover’s opening will bring much-needed relief from daily traffic congestion. The project is seen as part of the tamil Nadu government’s broader efforts to modernize Chennai’s road infrastructure and improve urban mobility.
Further official details regarding the exact inauguration date are expected to be announced shortly.
