a wave of panic and fascination swept across the internet. The alleged cause? The haunted Annabelle doll—yes, the one linked to real-life paranormal investigators Ed and Lorraine Warren—was rumored to have gone missing.

Social media erupted. TikTok users posted frantic updates, eerie theories surfaced, and some even connected the story to unrelated events, like a fire at a historic resort in Louisiana. It felt like the setup to a horror movie: a cursed doll vanishes, and chaos follows.

The rumor gained momentum after the doll was expected to appear at a spiritual event in San Antonio, Texas, but didn’t show. Before long, some online users claimed it had been “lost” while being transported to Chicago.

But here’s the truth: the Annabelle doll never left its case.

Dan Rivera, a lead member of the New england Society for Psychic Research (NESPR), quickly cleared things up. In a video posted online, he showed Annabelle right where she’s always been—inside her protective glass case at the Warrens’ Occult Museum in Monroe, Connecticut.

This isn’t the first time Annabelle has sparked a frenzy. A similar rumor went viral in 2020, and just like now, it was false. The real doll, a simple Raggedy Ann from the 1970s, continues to sit quietly in the museum, sealed away for good reason, according to the Warrens' records.

So, despite the internet’s wild ride of ghost stories and conspiracy theories, there’s no supernatural escape to report. The haunted doll remains exactly where it should be.
