Sleeping Problem: Do you wake up many times at night? Know its cause and solution


Interrupted Sleep:  Often the sleep is suddenly interrupted at night. This may happen with many people that a person sleeping in deep sleep wakes up several times in the night and then goes back to sleep. Sometimes people do not even remember that they were awake at night. This is a normal situation.

Many times people start thinking about waking up as to why they are awake or how long they slept. They also decide how much more time they have to sleep and when to wake up. Sleep expert Lynell at Yale Medicine says that adults wake up two to six times in a night. During this time they get immersed in some dispute or work-related worry. They need to be alert.


Don't lie on the bed.

Linell says, if you suddenly wake up, try to sleep again for 15-20 minutes, if you still can't sleep, get up from the bed. Sit in a quiet place at home and read a book, solve a puzzle, or listen to an audiobook. Doing this for half an hour will make you fall asleep. Don't get entangled in useless worries, it disturbs sleep.

Avoid eating at night

Sleep problems can also be caused by dinner disturbances. So avoid eating too late or too much at night. This prevents the digestive process from deteriorating. Spicy and fatty foods increase the problem. Experts recommend that one should eat light food at least 3 hours before sleeping. If you feel hungry at night, avoid snacks; you can have peanut butter toast or oats cookies. Keep in mind that it would be better not to consume caffeine and alcohol after noon.

Avoid checking your phone.

Using a mobile or other device when you can't sleep can keep you awake for a long time. Light disrupts the production of melatonin to relax. Don't check the time on your phone repeatedly. If you feel like checking your phone, keep it away from your bed or room so that you can stop yourself from using the phone.

Change the time of the workout

Exercise and physical activity improve sleep. However, if you wake up many times at night, then you should not work out in the evening. According to experts, this can increase heart rate and body temperature, which affects your sleep.
