Sandalwood industry sources have stated that first blockbuster of 2017 is Kirik Party, which had created records in domestic box office is repeating the feat at USA Box Office. The film released big in over 70 screens last Friday throughout USA. It was stated that the film had terrific openings and has managed to collect USD 260,000 (Rs.1.77 Crore) on its opening weekend. Distributors are hoping the film collects close to half a million (USD) in the full run.
The film has been released in number of major centers overseas and makers are in the process of releasing the film in remaining centers as well, with the help of local distributors. Meanwhile when speaking to a publication, distributor Jayanna, who had released the film in Karnataka, stated that film has grossed over 30 Crores till date in Karnataka and he expects the film to gross around 50 Crores worldwide in full run.
He had also revealed that even though the film has grossed
over 30 Crores, producers share will be around 15 Crores as the majority
collections are from multiplexes, where he had stated that sharing pattern is
skewed. Good news for the team is by last weekend and 'Belageddu' video song
from the movie had reached 10 Million views on YouTube which is a first for a
Kannada film in the recent years.
