The big news? Bill Skarsgård is officially back as Pennywise the Dancing Clown. After terrifying audiences in IT (2017) and IT Chapter Two (2019), Skarsgård is reprising his iconic role, once again donning the white makeup, red balloon, and chilling smile. His portrayal of Pennywise became instantly iconic, and fans are thrilled to see him return for more blood-curdling terror.

Welcome to Derry is set decades before the events of the first film and aims to explore the origins of Pennywise and the deep-rooted horrors of Derry, Maine. The series is being developed by HBO Max with Andy and Barbara Muschietti, who directed and produced the previous films, on board as executive producers. Andy Muschietti will also direct the first episode, ensuring a seamless continuation of the saga’s dark tone.
