Amid Spirit fiasco with Sandeep reddy Vanga, an old interview of neha dhupia resurfaced online, where she spoke about how ananya Panday was deeply inspired by deepika while filming Gehraiyaan.
Deepika Padukone recently found herself in the spotlight after reports claimed she was removed from sandeep Reddy Vanga’s upcoming film Spirit, co-starring Prabhas, due to differences over her demands. According to sources, deepika allegedly asked for a remuneration of over ₹20 crore and an 8-hour workday—terms the makers reportedly couldn’t agree to.
Amid this buzz, an old interview of neha dhupia resurfaced online, where she spoke about how ananya Panday was deeply inspired by deepika while filming Gehraiyaan.
When deepika padukone demanded her rights on Gehraiyaan sets
Neha recalled during a chat with mirchi Plus, “Maine ek baar ananya se sawal kiya tha, ‘What’s the point where you’ll never settle in life? Like, you’ll never settle for anything less than what you have.’ So, usne mereko bataya tha ki jab voh Gehraiyaan ke liye shoot kar rahi thi, she was shooting with Deepika."
She further added, “Deepika ko jab apna shot chahiye ya phir apne baal ek tareeke ke chahiye ya phir apni line thoda waqt le ke yaad karna hai ya director ko bola hai ‘I want another take’, she always… What ananya learned from her was that ask for what your right is, and as an actor, on set, that is your right.”
Neha continued, “Sab ho jaata hai. Yeh nahi ki light ja rahi hai ya… haan, aap apni lines yaad karke aao, aap time par aao. Voh sab karo. Par uske baad, the process, enjoy it, and don’t let go till you’re fully satisfied. It was so nice to hear that from ananya because she was like, deepika ko dekh ke usne voh seekha. After ananya said that, even I was like, you know, this is it. If I want to do a fun interview, then I will be here and do that fun interview."
Triptii Dimri replaces Deepika
Meanwhile, it’s now confirmed that Animal star Triptii Dimri has officially replaced deepika in Spirit. As per Telugu outlets like telugu 360, Triptii is charging around ₹4 crore for the role—reportedly far less than what deepika had quoted. While there’s no official confirmation about the final deal, the recasting has generated major conversation in industry circles.
