Alok Nath Gets supreme court Relief in haryana Marketing Scam Case

Actor alok nath, popularly known as ‘Sanskari Babuji’, has received interim relief from the supreme court of india in a marketing scam case filed in Haryana.

The case involves a multi-level marketing company and its linked entity, Human Welfare Credit Cooperative Society Limited, which started operations in september 2016.

The society expanded to various states, offering public deposit schemes like Fixed Deposits (FDs) and Recurring Deposits (RDs), promising safe investments with high returns.

For the first few years, investors received timely returns, which built public trust. But by 2023, payments stopped abruptly.

Society officials began giving excuses such as ‘system upgrades’ and eventually cut off all communication, triggering suspicion and complaints.

An FIR was filed on 22 january 2024 under serious sections of the indian Justice Code 2023:

Section 316(2): criminal breach of trust

Section 318(2): Fraud

Section 318(4): Conspiracy involving financial deception

13 people, including actors alok nath and shreyas talpade, were named in the FIR. The actors allegedly promoted the society as brand ambassadors.

Complainant vipul Antil claims that celebrity endorsements led people to trust the scheme and invest their money.

The police are currently investigating whether the actors were merely endorsers or knowingly participated in the scam.

On Tuesday, a supreme court bench of Justices B.V. Nagarathna and R.

Mahadevan issued a stay on Alok Nath’s arrest until further hearing.

Earlier, shreyas talpade had also received similar protection from arrest in this case.

Alok Nath’s involvement will be probed. If proven unaware of the fraud, he may get relief; otherwise, legal trouble could intensify.
