Assembly Elections are going to take entire nation by storm for next few months and all the updates regarding elections will take the lime light. Election Commission has announced that West Bengal, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry will have elections on May 16th and the counting of votes will be done uniformly on May 19th.


For Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, the elections will take place as single phase. But for West Bengal, the election will take place in five different phases. In Tamil Nadu, there are 234 Assembly Constituencies and 39 Parliamentary Constituencies.


Rajesh Lakhoni is the Chief Electoral officer. He has made some stern laws to control the flow of money in these elections. He also made it sure that no banners or stickers of ruling party should be in Government Offices.


He has taken stern action and has recovered around 11 Crores from Tamil Nadu alone. Sunil Kumar Gupta is the Chief Electoral Officer for West Bengal and there are 293 Assembly Constituencies  and 42 Parliamentary Constituencies in West Bengal.
