The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams has decided to beef up temple security  with 1755 CCTVs at Lord Venkateswara temple at Tirumala, Sri Padmavati Temple at Trichanoor and other sub temples in Tirupati in view of renewed terror threats.

 TTD already has five companies (500 men) of the armed commandos of SPG to guard Tirumala Temple and also Trichanoor temple. It has also set up 300 CCTVs in the Srivari Temple and a four level security around the Temple besides two layers of iron curtains around the temple. Threats were issued by Islamic terrorits once again on June 5 that they would blow the temple  and also the ghat roads .

 TTD spends nearly Rs.Ten lakhs per day on security arrangements to guard its Jewellery in Srivari temple and other temples and public utilities from sabotage .Jewelry l worth Rs. Rs.500 crore are  available at Srivari Temple and the Hundis earn a total of Rs. Two crore per day 

 Tirumala has six police stations with 1000 civil police and daily over 150 crimes are reported, five accidents, two suicides, 20 thefts and over hundred incidents of pick pocketing. A replica of entire Srivari temple complex is built near Alipiri to train  staff and commandos  with mock attacks and test their preparedness. It also has a cyber network of CCTVs  at all locations and a satellite coverage to ward off any flights on the hill shrine.
