Supreme court did not give decision on interim bail of arvind kejriwal, hearing will be held next week

Supreme court heard the interim bail plea of delhi cm arvind kejriwal, who is lodged in Tihar Jail. He has not got relief.

Supreme court heard the plea of delhi chief minister arvind kejriwal on Tuesday. delhi cm challenged the arrest by Enforcement Directorate in the money laundering case related to delhi Excise Policy. A bench of Justice Sanjiv Khanna and Justice Dipankar Dutta heard the case. supreme court has reserved the decision on interim bail plea after hearing the arguments of ED and Singhvi. It is being said that the decision may come by next week.

During the hearing, Solicitor General sv Raju told the supreme court that after manish Sisodia's bail was cancelled, property worth Rs 1100 crore has been seized. On this, Justice Khanna asked that the proceeds of crime i.e. bribe was Rs 100 crore... how did it become Rs 1100 crore in 2-3 years. ASG Raju said, "This also includes the profit made by liquor companies due to the policy." On which the supreme court said that all the profit cannot be considered as income earned from crime.

Kejriwal is not a habitual offender

During the hearing, the supreme court said, "Kejriwal is not a habitual offender. This is an extraordinary case in itself. He is the cm of Delhi. We will consider whether interim bail can be granted. You put your arguments on this." On which SG Tushar Mehta said that if this happens then it will send a wrong message that an accused is getting bail for campaigning.

Manu Singhvi put these arguments

Senior advocate abhishek Manu Singhvi put arguments on behalf of kejriwal in the supreme Court. He said, "Look at the case of Shiv shankar Das of Odisha. Bail was granted on the condition that he will not campaign. The supreme court rejected that condition. Then came chandrababu naidu whose case is only a few months old. It said that press interviews can be given. Instead of keeping kejriwal in jail in this case, they want to make delhi his jail.
