Rajampet, situated on the banks of the river Cheyeru in the kadapa district of rayalaseema, was constituted as a lok sabha constituency in 1952. politics always becomes a hot topic here. This lok sabha seat in rayalaseema is very special. rajampet mp candidate Peddireddy Venkatamithun reddy is contesting in 2024 general elections from YCP.

Congress has won the highest number of elections in Rajampet. telugu desam party (TDP) won twice. Independent and YSRCP candidates also won here. In the 2019 lok sabha elections, mithun reddy (from YCP) was the tdp candidate D.A. He won over satya Prabha. mithun reddy stood on behalf of ycp in 2024 elections. But this seat went to bjp as part of the alliance. Former chief minister Nallari Kirankumar reddy is contesting as a tdp candidate from pileru Legislative assembly seat under rajampet Lok Sabha.

There are total 7 legislative constituencies under rajampet Lok Sabha. Among them
Rajampet, Railway Kodur (SC), Rayachoti, madanapalle, Tamballapalle, Peeleru, punganur etc. minister Peddireddy Ramachandra reddy is contesting in Punganur. YSP leader Gadikota srikanth reddy is contesting in Rayachoti constituency. Nishar ahmed is contesting from madanapalle Constituency.

YCP leader Peddireddy Dwarkanath reddy entered the ring in Tamballapalle. ycp candidate K Srinivasulu is contesting from Kodur. The respective leaders from tdp, Jana Sena and bjp alliance are contesting against them. It is difficult to say who will win as the constituency conditions are different. mp candidate kiran kumar reddy has good contacts in all constituencies. There are chances of him winning as MP.
