The price of a cooking gas cylinder has gone up by Rs 25 from today and now, due to this, a cylinder is priced at Rs.900 and within this year the price is expected to shoot up to Rs.1100. The price of a home cooking gas cylinder has been increased to twenty-five Rupees and due to this a cylinder with a subsidy is sold for Rs.900.50 and earlier on august 17, the cylinder was priced at Rs 875.50, with a similar price hike.

Similarly, the non-subsidized cylinder price for commercial use has been increased by Rs.75 to Rs 1,831.50 and this hike has caused dissatisfaction among housewives and commoners. The price of a cylinder has gone up by Rs.25 a month after a month and a half and now it has gone up by Rs.25 again in just two weeks time and this has literally shocked everyone.


Cylinder prices are determined by the volatility of crude oil prices in the international market and it should be noted that due to this the cylinder price is adjusted twice per month. petrol and diesel prices in Chennai, are declining steadily across India, but at the same time the cooking gas cylinders price has increased by a margin of Rs.25
