What is the reason for Liz Truss to resign?


British prime minister Liz Truss has resigned from her post. Liz Truss has become the shortest-serving prime minister in UK history.  In a speech from outside Downing Street, she said she had already spoken to the king of britain about her resignation. She has also said that she will remain in office until britain gets a new prime minister.


Liz Truss's resignation is not voluntary. MPs were continuously pressurizing her to resign. Now people were raising questions about economic policies. Eventually she resigned.


What did Liz Truss say after the resignation?

Liz Truss has said that she was chosen for the position by the Conservative Party. We made rules related to lower tax in energy bill and national insurance. We have set a new approach for development, which will strengthen the economy.

Liz Truss said that in the current situation I could not complete the tasks for which I was chosen by the Conservative Party. I have informed king that I am resigning from the post. I am no longer the leader of the Conservative Party.

Liz Truss said, 'I met Graham Brady, the chairman of the 1922 committee, this morning. We agreed that there will be an election for the top post next week. We will make sure that the financial plans are implemented properly, the economic security of the country remains.

Why did Liz Truss have to resign? Here are the reasons-

1. Prime Minister's post found in deteriorating conditions

When Liz Truss took office as prime minister, her first day was overshadowed by queen Elizabeth's funeral. When Treasury Secretary Kwasi Kwarteng announced economic plans on 23 September, there were many flaws in it. The government announced a tax cut of about Rs 5,000 crore but could not make it clear how it would compensate.

2. Conservative party leader wanted Liz Truss to resign

Several Conservative party leaders had put pressure on Liz Truss to resign as prime minister. The MPs had alleged that the government has become disorganized. Nobody has a concrete plan.

3. Jeremy Hunt's decision also increased the difficulty

Finance minister Jeremy Hunt cut the government's mini-budget on Monday. The move further aggravated the crisis for Liz Truss's leadership. This decision also went against Liz Truss.

4. Suella Braverman's resignation sparked rebellion

Cabinet ministers resigned one after another from Liz Truss's cabinet. The political crisis escalated after home minister Suella Braverman stepped down. Conservative party MPs rebelled following their resignations, making it impossible for her to continue in office.
