Over 1.5 crore people in telangana have had their eyes screened as part of the second phase of the Kanti Velugu project, which was introduced on january 18. The State health Department's initiative has resulted in the distribution of reading glasses to 21.66 lakh people and the identification of a total of 17, 41, 782 people who need prescription eyeglasses.
According to the most recent Kanti Velugu report released on Wednesday, 1, 13, 52, 870 people—or nearly 75 percent—of the 1, 52, 61, 763 people who underwent eye screening since this january had no eye-related problems. According to the figures, 11% of the individuals evaluated as part of the Kanti Velugu project required prescription glasses, while 14% were given reading glasses right away.

The Kanti Velugu campaign, which aims to eradicate avoidable blindness from telangana, has so far examined almost 10 lakh individuals at various medical clinics throughout the former nizamabad district. According to DMHO Sudharshanam of nizamabad, 5,96,589 individuals had their eyes tested as of Wednesday. According to the DMHO, "about 89,409 have received free glasses following the eye examination." The overall number of people who have been screened thus far is 4,13,609, according to kamareddy DMHO Dr. lakshman Singh. To 57,912 people, spectacles and medications were delivered.
