Union education Minister dharmendra pradhan expressed displeasure over the cancellation of the National education Policy (NEP) in the state and put eight questions to deputy chief minister DK Shivakumar on Twitter.
1. Are DK and congress opposed to early childhood care and education as part of formal education? Don't they want children to achieve foundational literacy and numeracy by the time they finish Grade 2?
2.Against indigenous indian toys, games and play based learning for our children? Oppose Chinna's house in Karnataka?
3.Against kannada and other indian language education? Don't you want exams like NEET, CUET, JEE to be transparently conducted in indian language including Kannada?
4.Against multi-modal education? Oppose integration of vocational education, physical education, arts and sports as critical areas of study in school education?
5.Don't you think the youth of karnataka should get world class research facilities through National Research Foundation?
6.Don't students want to learn about new and emerging technologies in the 21st century? Don't kids want new textbooks for 21st century education?
7.Resist opportunities to earn while learning?
8.Wouldn't we want to strengthen our teachers' centers of excellence by reshaping diets as centers of excellence?
Meanwhile, state leaders' absurd statements on NEP may please their high command in Delhi. But this has been criticized as compromising the interest of the students of Karnataka.
