Short intense rain spells lashed several parts of the city on sunday evening, starting in Gachibowli, Hitec City, Lingampally, Khajaguda, and Nanakramguda in the west and then covering Shaikpet, Filmnagar, Manikonda, Toli Chowki, Jubilee Hills, Banjara Hills, Mehdipatnam, Golconda, Langer Houz, Nanalnagar, Attapur, Rajendranagar, Aramghar, and the Old City.

Alwal, Tarnaka, Secunderabad, Moula Ali, Malkajgiri, Trimulgherry, Boduppal, Habsiguda, Bolaram, Nacharam, Narapally, Ghatkesar, and Suchitra were all affected by late-evening rain and thunderstorms. Rain was observed in the other districts of Adilabad, Jagtial, Kamareddy, Karimnagar, Khammam, Komaram Bheem, Mancherial, Medak, Medchal, Nalgonda, Nirmal, Nizamabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Rangareddy, Sangareddy, Siddipet, Suryapet, and Vikarabad. According to the telangana Development and Planning Society, Rajendranagar in the city had the greatest rainfall in the city with 13 mm, while mulugu district in the state had the highest rainfall with 61 mm.

According to IMD, the rain was brought on by a trough that extended from jharkhand to a cyclonic circulation across south-central maharashtra and the surrounding area. The Meteorological Department has said that the low-pressure area continues in the Bay of bengal and predicted possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall in the telugu states of telangana and andhra pradesh for the next two days.
