Stand-up comedian Kunal Kamra has got a big relief from bombay high court in the FIR registered against him for making a satirical video and 'traitor' remark against maharashtra Deputy chief minister Eknath Shinde. The court has ordered mumbai police not to arrest Kamra.

police should now go to chennai for interrogation- Court

The division bench of Justice Sarang Kotwal and SM modak stayed Kamra's arrest, but refused to completely stop the investigation. However, the court also made it clear that if the police wants to interrogate Kamra, then this process should be done in chennai, because Kamra currently lives in tamil Nadu.

Kamra had filed a petition demanding this

This order was given on the petition in which Kamra had demanded the cancellation of the FIR. The court had granted him interim arrest protection on april 16, which has now been made permanent. The court also directed that if mumbai police files a chargesheet while Kamra's petition is pending, the trial court will not take any action on it.

This FIR against Kamra was registered at Mumbai's MIDC police station on the basis of a complaint by shiv sena MLA Murji Patel, which was later transferred to Khar police station. Cases have been registered in the FIR under sections 353(1)(b), 353(2) and 356(2) of the indian Penal Code (BNS).

Investigation process will continue

Given the seriousness of the matter, Kamra first took interim anticipatory bail from the madras high court, after which he approached the bombay High Court. Kunal Kamra had taken a dig at the political system through his satirical videos and statements, due to which this controversy arose. Now he has definitely got relief from this decision of the court, but the investigation process will continue.
