The deep connection between delhi politics and the world of crime has once again come to light. In a major case registered under the Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA), the delhi police has filed a supplementary chargesheet against former aam aadmi party mla naresh Balyan and three other accused. For the first time in this case, Balyan's name has appeared in the chargesheet. The accused along with him include Sahil alias Poly, Vijay alias Kalu and Jyoti Prakash alias Baba. All four have been described as active members of the criminal network of notorious gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu.

Collusion between crime and politics?

This chargesheet has been filed at a time when there is a stir in political circles over the arrest and judicial custody of naresh Balyan. The police have alleged that Balyan was giving political protection to the organised gang and he played an active role in its operation.

Big action by investigation agencies

This is the second supplementary chargesheet filed by the police, while the main chargesheet has already been filed against Hrithik alias Peter. Supplementary has also been filed against Rohit alias Anna and Sachin Chikara. The court has taken cognizance of all these. Special Judge Dig Vinay Singh will now hear this high-profile case on friday (02 May).

naresh Balyan was arrested on 4 december last year

Former mla Balyan was arrested by delhi police on 4 december last year. After this, the court sent him to judicial custody and gave the police a 60-day investigation period, which was extended for another 60 days on 1 March. This period is now ending on 4 May. The police recently sought an additional 11 days' time to complete the investigation against two other accused Sahil and Vijay, which was granted by the court.

The mastermind of the gang is gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu

This entire case is related to the crime syndicate run by gangster Kapil Sangwan alias Nandu, who is involved in cases like murder, ransom, land grabbing and smuggling of illegal weapons in Delhi-NCR. The Special Cell of delhi police is engaged in uprooting the roots of this gang.
