Chairing an emergency meeting through video conferencing with Deputy Commissioners of all border districts, the chief minister said that the funds should be distributed on priority basis in the border areas. According to official sources, the move is aimed at ensuring that the districts are adequately equipped to deal with emergencies, store essential supplies and prepare for evacuation.
The meeting, called in view of the increasing tension on the Line of Control (LoC) and the international Border, was attended by top officials including Advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, Chief Secretary Atal Dulloo, Additional Chief Secretary Dheeraj Gupta, Divisional Commissioners of kashmir and Jammu and Deputy Commissioners of all the affected districts.

He directed the administration to strengthen infrastructure for shelters and bunkers, ensure availability of medical resources, deploy ambulances in vulnerable areas and keep an evacuation plan ready. He also called for immediate filling of vacant posts of tehsildars and other key officials in border districts to ensure smooth functioning of government machinery. The chief minister expressed grief over reports of civilian casualties and injuries in areas along the Line of Control and directed officials to provide all necessary assistance to the affected families. The Deputy Commissioners briefed the chief minister on the level of preparedness and confirmed that emergency supplies have been stocked. He assured the administration of constant monitoring and timely response as per the situation. omar abdullah also directed officials to actively counter misinformation and urged people to rely only on official communication channels for updates during this sensitive period.
