
An important cabinet meeting was held in bihar on friday (May 16), in which all the big ministers were present along with cm Nitish Kumar. Nitish government has approved 69 agendas in the bihar Cabinet. In this meeting, many important decisions including changing the name of Gaya city to increasing the DA of employees and a separate bank for Jeevika Didi have been approved.
Additional burden of Rs 1070 crore on the state government
In this meeting, a big gift was taken to increase the salary of government employees receiving salary pension under the seventh central pay scale from 53% to 55%. A total of 2% dearness allowance has been increased. At the same time, dearness allowance has been increased by 6% to government employees receiving salary and pension under the sixth pay scale. Dearness allowance of 11% has been increased to those receiving salary and pension under the fifth pay scale, its approval has been received in the cabinet today. The increase in dearness allowance will put an additional burden of Rs 1070 crore on the state government. At the same time, in the financial year 2025-26, approval has been given for loan collection of Rs 58 thousand 193 crore including market loan of Rs 54 thousand 213 crore from the state government level.
Approval has been given to change the name of Gaya city in the cabinet meeting. Now the new name has become Gayaji. A proposal came from the General Administration Department to change the name of Gaya city to Gayaji, which has been approved by the bihar Cabinet. Water supply project for Bodhgaya city has also been approved. Under the Swadesh Darshan Scheme of the Ministry of Tourism, a Buddhist Meditation and Experience Center will be constructed in Bodh Gaya. For this, an approval of Rs 165 crore 44 lakh has been given.
State ceremony on the birth anniversary of Sushil Modi
Along with this, the birth anniversary of former deputy chief minister Sushil Modi will be celebrated every year on january 5 as a state function. This has also been approved by the cabinet. Under Operation Sindoor, the families of the martyred soldiers will be given a compensation of Rs 50 lakh. There will be a separate bank for Jeevika Didi, Jeevika Didi will also clean the block area office. Birth and death registration can now be done through the panchayat Secretary at the village level and new Anganwadi centers have also been approved. An amount of Rs 27 billion has been approved for panchayat government buildings.
