
himachal pradesh Transport Department has earned a revenue of 912 crores in the financial year 2024-25. Which is 17 percent more than 132 crores from the last financial year. This year this revenue will cross 1000 crores. This year, in just one and a half months, the Transport Department has earned a revenue of 150 crores. The department has made many efforts to increase the revenue. This information was given by deputy chief minister Mukesh Agnihotri in a press conference held in Shimla.
The deputy cm said that one and a half lakh vehicles have been registered in Himachal in the last one year. A total of 23 lakh vehicles are registered in Himachal Pradesh. Out of which 8 lakh are cars. During this time, one lakh new licenses have been made in the state in a year. While there are a total of 16 lakh licenses in the state.
Let us tell you that in view of the better work of Himachal Transport Department, the Center awarded 25 crores last year, while this year an award of 28.75 crores was given. The Transport Department is going to give routes of one thousand new vehicles to private hands in Himachal Pradesh. In the first phase, out of 234 routes, 181 routes have been taken by the people. While 350 routes will be given to 18 seater vehicles. Apart from this, 422 routes have been invited for bus routes. There are three thousand private routes in Himachal.
This much income was earned from the auction of VIP numbers
Mukesh Agnihotri said that in the last two years, 26812 permits have been issued to taxis and buses. Transport earned an income of 37 crores from the auction of VIP numbers. Up to 25 lakhs a number was sold in the auction. Transport has earned an income of 23 crores from tax defaulters in two years.
2 scrap centers opened
Two scrap centers have been opened in Himachal for scrapping old vehicles. Private people have also been invited to open scrap centers. So far 400 vehicles have been scrapped in two scrap centers. While 2500 vehicles were scrapped outside the state. 3000 vehicles are still to be scrapped.
7 automatic passing systems will be installed
Till now manual vehicle passing was done in himachal pradesh but now government automatic passing system has been installed in Baddi. While a total of 7 automatic passing systems are going to be installed including Una Hamirpur. He told that three companies have been given work on PP mode for e-charging in 6 green corridors in Himachal. Now e-charging stations will be installed in the hotels and guest houses of Himachal Tourism Development Corporation.
