Elon Musk is once again in the headlines. This time the reason is his new bet XChat. Just after distancing himself from donald trump in US politics, Musk has launched a new chatting feature on his social media platform X. Now Musk's eyes are on big messaging apps like WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal. This new feature called XChat will provide users with the facility of messages, voice calls and video calls, that too without a phone number.

Start talking with just the X ID, not the number

The biggest feature of XChat is that you do not need anyone's mobile number to talk here. If any user connected on X is in your contact list, then you can start chatting and calling directly.

Power of security, end-to-end encryption

Musk has described this feature as very safe. Your chats will now be completely private, because end-to-end encryption has been used in it. Meaning no third party will have access to your conversations.

Vanishing message also available

XChat has another special feature, Vanishing Message. That is, the message you send will disappear automatically after some time. This will strengthen your privacy. However, complete information about this feature has not been revealed yet as to how it will work.

Hassle-free calling and file sharing

With this new tool, you can make audio and video calls, share files and that too very easily.

Security like Bitcoin, use of Rust technology

XChat is built on a high-secure programming language called Rust, which is known for both speed and safety. Musk's team claims that an encryption system like Bitcoin has been used in it.

Currently only paid users get the facility

XChat is currently in beta version and is available only to those users who are paid subscribers of X. If you see the XChat option in your app, you can activate it by setting a 4-digit PIN.
