pakistan has been in fear ever since it suspended the indus river Water Treaty. pakistan knows that if this situation continues for some time, it will worsen due to water scarcity. Due to this, pakistan has been talking about this repeatedly at every available opportunity. india took various steps in response to the pahalgam attack. The main one was announcing that it would suspend the indus river Water Treaty. india suspended the indus river Water Treaty until pakistan takes serious action against terrorism. Difficulties for pakistan pakistan is facing great difficulties due to this action of India. Meanwhile, pakistan is asking india to re-implement the indus river Water Treaty. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has made a request in this regard. india suspended this agreement last May after the pahalgam attack. pakistan has said that the recent verdict of the international court of Justice shows that the agreement is in effect. pakistan had approached the international court of Justice objecting to two projects planned by india on the Indus River.
The international court of Justice gave its verdict last week of june after the hearing in this regard. However, india has not recognized this verdict of the international court of Justice. india categorically rejected this verdict last week. The Ministry of External Affairs stated that it will not accept the verdict on the objections raised by pakistan regarding the Kishanganga and Rattle hydroelectric projects. pakistan keeps asking again and again Meanwhile, a few days ago, a press release issued by the Foreign office of pakistan said, "The international court of Justice has ruled that the Indus Waters Treaty is valid and is still in force. This shows Pakistan's position that india has no right to take unilateral action regarding this treaty. Therefore, we request india to re-implement the Indus Waters Treaty and fully implement the provisions of its treaty." In addition to the arrogant speech, Pakistan's Deputy prime minister and Foreign minister Ishaq Dar had also raised this issue. In this regard, he said, "This has confirmed the validity of the Indus Waters Treaty. pakistan welcomes the verdict of the international court of Justice in the Kishanganga-Rattle case.
This verdict confirms that the Indus Waters Treaty is fully valid. india cannot unilaterally suspend it." Pakistan's situation is bad, India's position is one thing we should note here. india did not say this in the case regarding the suspension of this agreement. On the contrary, india was going to carry out some projects on the indus river several months ago. This case is an attempt by pakistan to stop it. There are provinces of pakistan, including Punjab, that depend on the water of the Indus River. If it is not there, pakistan will face great difficulties. Because of this, it is constantly trying to convince india to talk about it. But it is noteworthy that india is adamant that this agreement cannot be brought back after an attack on innocent people.
