Singh reaffirmed the government's unwavering commitment: every individual involved in orchestrating the tragedy will be identified and brought to justice.
High-Level Security review Led by amit Shah
In response to the blast, Union home minister amit shah chaired an emergency security review meeting.
Participants included:
Home Secretary Govind Mohan
Intelligence Bureau director Tapan Deka
NIA director General Sadanand Vasant Date
Delhi police Commissioner Satish Golchha
J&K DGP Nalin Prabhat attended the meeting via video conferencing.
The review focused on assessing the current threat landscape and coordinating investigative efforts across multiple agencies.
Nature of the Blast & Ongoing Investigation
Preliminary assessments suggest the explosion may have been a fidayeen-style attack, potentially involving a suicide-attack plan that was altered at the last moment.
Police believe the assailant changed strategy after a terror module in faridabad was busted, opting instead for a moving-vehicle detonation near red Fort to maximize casualties.
Authorities are examining whether the intended target was different, as the blast took place while the car was moving slowly.
Investigators are probing possible links to the explosives recovered earlier in Faridabad—360 kg of explosive materials and ammunition—with suspects Dr Muzammil and Aadil Rather already arrested.
Chemical and logistical analyses are underway to determine connections between both incidents.
