The five-day weightlifting competition concluded on Wednesday. Several records were made in the first four days, but no record was made on the last day. Luthra overcame a wrist injury she suffered two months before the indian Weightlifting Federation's national championships this january and competed in her second Khelo india youth Games.

Gagandeep of punjab wins bronze

Amrita P Suni of kerala lifted 79kg in snatch and 102kg in clean and jerk to win the gold medal in the youth girls +81kg category. Karnati naga Ramalakshmi of andhra pradesh won the silver medal with a total lift of 176kg (75+101). Gagandeep Kaur of punjab won the bronze medal with a total lift of 167kg.

Amrita, who trained at NCOE Lucknow, got interested in weightlifting through her father who was also a national-level weightlifter. He works as an engineering supervisor. Despite being good in studies, her father wanted her to fulfill her dream of representing india in international competitions.
