mumbai indians have made it to Qualifier-2 by defeating gujarat Titans in the Eliminator match. On the other hand, punjab Kings have already reached Qualifier-2 after losing to royal challengers Bangalore in Qualifier-1. Now whichever team wins this match in Qualifier-2 between punjab and mumbai will play the IPL 2025 final with RCB.
What will happen if it rains in the Mumbai-Punjab match?
Qualifier-2 of IPL 2025 will be played at narendra modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. There is very little chance of rain in this match. But if Qualifier-2 to be played between mumbai and punjab gets washed away in the rain, then according to the rules of IPL, the team which was ahead in the points table in the league matches will enter the final. If seen, punjab team was at the top of the points table with 19 points, while mumbai team was at number four with 16 points. In such a situation, if the match is canceled due to rain, then punjab team will reach the final without playing the game.
Extra time for Qualifier-2
If rain interrupts the match between mumbai and punjab for some time, then some extra time is kept in IPL for playoff matches. Even if Qualifier-2 starts late, an extra 120 minutes i.e. 2 hours can be given to complete the match. But if the match is completely washed out in the rain, then no reserve day has been kept available.
