Jyoti surekha Creates history at Archery world cup Final


Historic Achievement: 


Jyoti surekha Vennam became India’s first female bronze medalist at the Women’s Compound Archery world cup Final held in Nanjing, China.


Bronze Medal Match: 


She defeated world No. 2 Ella Gibson of britain with a stunning performance, shooting 15 consecutive perfect arrows (all 10s) to win 150-145.


Quarterfinals: 


Jyoti began confidently, beating Alexis Ruiz from the united states 143-140 to advance to the semifinals.


Semifinals: 


Jyoti narrowly lost to world No. 1 Andrea Becerra of mexico by 143-145. She was leading after the third end but Andrea surged ahead by scoring three 10s in the fourth end.


Mental Strength: 


Despite the close semifinal defeat, Jyoti showcased composure and resilience, which helped her bounce back strongly in the bronze medal match.


Career Milestone: 


This bronze is Jyoti’s first podium finish at the world cup Final after three appearances. She previously competed in the 2022 Tlaxcala and 2023 Hermosillo finals but was eliminated early.

No indian athletes qualified in the recurve category this year.
