Season 2 of Euphoria has come to an end after a contentious eight-episode run. The HBO teen drama developed by sam Levinson has had a huge second season, with viewership more than doubling from the first season, which aired in 2019. Since the show's debut, the cast of Euphoria has enjoyed tremendous success, and fans have been eagerly expecting the show's return. Season 2 of Euphoria, on the other hand, proved to be a polarising season of television, with rumours of behind-the-scenes drama and a storey that perplexed viewers.

Season 2 of Euphoria begins with the east Highlands high schoolers at the start of the new year. Rue, played by Zendaya, has relapsed, and she and Jules are no longer friends. While the characters join together for a New Year's Eve party, they spend the remainder of the season working through their personal problems. This happened at the expense of numerous significant characters, with Kat (Barbbie Fererra), Jules (Hunter Scafer), and Eliot (Domnic Fikke), a new character introduced to fans in episode 1, receiving very little time on screen in Euphoria season 2.

To varying levels of success, the Euphoria season 2 finale attempted to bring all of these separate plotlines together. As Lexi's play "Our Life" progresses, the episode shifts back and forth between this progressively perplexing storytelling device, blurring the border between real and unreal. This leads to a less-than-exciting conclusion, with certain dramatic moments punctuating subdued character growth in a way that nevertheless leaves many plotlines hanging.
