WarnerMedia has announced the Batman streaming release date, with the critically praised series remake premiering on HBO Max on april 18. As the titular DC hero, Robert Pattinson leads the ensemble cast alongside Zoe Kravitz as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. Following Ben Affleck's initial resignation from the character and the DC Extended Universe, Matt Reeves has taken over as director of The Batman.

The Batman follows Bruce Wayne in his second year as the titular vigilante fighting crime in Gotham City. The arrival of serial killer the Riddler, who is targeting Gotham's elite people, including Bruce, in a quest to disclose a terrible truth from their pasts, further challenges Batman as he uncovers a complex web of corruption inside the city. To defeat the cryptic killer, Batman will have to form new connections with people in Gotham's sleazy underbelly, such as Catwoman, and others who want to make a difference, such as Gotham City police Lieutenant Jim Gordon.
