The first eight minutes of Stranger Things season 4 have just been posted on Netflix. The supernatural fantasy-horror series, which is one of Netflix's core titles, chronicles the events in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana, which is plagued by creatures who emerge from a parallel dimension known as the Upside Down. The new season has been broken into two halves, three years after season 3, partly owing to pandemic-related production challenges. Part 1 will be released in just one week, on May 27, 2022, and Part 2 will be released a month and a half later, on July 1, 2022.

The core group of Stranger Things Season 4 will be split up across different places. Hopper must be rescued from an evil group with their own Demogorgon in a gulag in Russia. Jonathan and Will Byers will be separated from their buddies as they begin school in California, which is across the nation. Meanwhile, a horrifying new monster will emerge in Hawkins, maybe as a result of a portal to the Upside Down discovered in the attic of the reputedly haunted Creel House.

Stranger Things' official twitter account revealed the opening eight minutes of season 4's first episode today. The tweet includes a quote from Matthew Modine's Dr. Brenner (who will return this season after missing season 3) who says, "What have you done?" This appears to be a reference to a horrific crime performed by a young Eleven (Millie bobby Brown), revealing the season's first minutes to be a flashback to her time at Hawkins Lab.
