The news of Samsung's investment in the Sriperumbudur plant was confirmed by tamil Nadu industry Minister Dr. TRB raja on social media. He said that this new investment will create 100 new jobs in the manufacturing unit. Many electronic products like refrigerators, washing machines, televisions are manufactured in the Sriperumbudur plant. Goods worth US$ 12 billion were sold from here in 2022-23.
tamil Nadu has the highest number of factories in the country
tamil Nadu has been successful in attracting investments worth Rs 10.14 lakh crore between May 2021 and march 2025. As a result, 32 lakh jobs have been created in sectors like automobile, semi-conductor and technical textiles. Samsung's Sriperumbudur plant currently employs more than 2,000 people. It is a major contributor to Samsung's operations in India. According to the company's data for the financial year 2022-23, this plant has contributed about one-fifth of Samsung's Rs 1 lakh crore sales across the country.
