Six passengers were killed after a helicopter crashed near Ganganani in Uttarakhand's Uttarkashi district on Thursday. There have been six human beings on the chopper, including the pilot.


One individual has been rescued; however, there is no clarity about the destiny of others, Uttarkashi district catastrophe management officer Shardul Singh told PTI.


Alleviation and rescue operations are underway, with administration and emergency teams present on the crash website online.


The incident took place inside the border district of Uttarkashi, close to Ganganani. It concerned a helicopter carrying six passengers and its captain. Visuals from the crash website online showed the mangled interior of the chopper.


Garhwal divisional commissioner Vinay shankar Pandey said as soon as news of the crash reached the government, comfort and rescue teams had been mobilized and rushed to the website online to assist with rescue operations and offer clinical aid.


The cause of the crash is yet to be determined.


Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami stated that the country's catastrophe reaction force and district management teams have reached the spot for remedy and rescue work.


"I have informed the management to offer all viable assistance to the injured and investigate the coincidence," Pushkar Singh Dhami said.
