Taking revenge for the pahalgam terror attack, the indian armed forces entered pakistan and POK and destroyed several terror camps. Since then, tension has been going on between india and Pakistan. Meanwhile, amid the current situation, famous bollywood writer and lyricist javed akhtar lashed out at the neighbouring country's army Chief General Asim Munir and expressed disappointment over his comments made a few days before the pahalgam terror attack.

What did Asim Munir say in his statement?

Let us tell you that 26 innocent people were killed in the pahalgam terror attack. In response to this heartbreaking attack, india launched Operation Sindoor, targeting terror camps inside pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. After four days of fierce fighting, both countries agreed to a ceasefire on May 10. Amidst all this, General Asim Munir had said, "Our ancestors believed that we are different from Hindus in every possible aspect of life, our religion is different. Our customs are different. Our traditions are different. Our thinking is different and our ambitions are different..."

In an interview with lawyer and politician Kapil Sibal, javed akhtar criticized the comments made by Asim Munir and called them 'insensitive'. He said, "No country is one. Every citizen of a country cannot be the same. If the government of a country is bad, then its effect will be first on its citizens... Our issue should be only with the government, army and extremists, our full sympathy should be with those innocent people who are suffering because of them."

Why are you abusing Hindus?

javed akhtar said, "I saw the speech of their army chief on YouTube. What an insensitive person he seemed to be. Yes, abuse indians if you think we are bad, but why are you abusing Hindus? Don't they realize that pakistan also has a population of Hindus? Shouldn't you respect your own people? What kind of man are you? What are you saying? You have no sense."
