Prime minister Narendra Modi had a video conference with health workers and beneficiaries of the Govt vaccination program in himachal pradesh and while addressing the gathering, he said, "Himachal Pradesh has emerged as the champion in the fight against the biggest epidemic in 100 years and himachal pradesh has become the first state to provide at least one dose of vaccine to all eligible people.

This points to the importance of success, self-confidence, and self-reliance and the vaccination program in india has been successful due to the passion and hard work of the people. india is vaccinating 1.273 crore people a day at a record pace. The number of vaccines administered per day in india is higher than the population of many countries and I appreciate the contribution of Asha staff, Anganwadi staff, medical staff, teachers, and women in the vaccination campaign.

Himachal Pradesh, the land of the gods, follows the cooperative model, and even in a remote district like Lahore-Spiti, himachal pradesh leads in 100 percent first dose vaccination and this is something we should applaud and appreciate. Prior to the construction of the Atal tunnel, the area was routinely isolated from the rest of the country for several months and I commend the people of himachal pradesh for not giving place to any rumors and misinformation that could prevent vaccination efforts. Himachal is a testament to how the country’s rural community is improving the world’s largest and fastest vaccination campaign and I appreciate itagain."
