Following the epidemic, the telugu box office has witnessed a true hit for the first time in a long time, and it all started with Nandamuri Balakrishna's Akhanda. In some theatres, the picture also completed a 100-day run at the box office in March. And Nandamuri lovers are in for a real treat with this Boyapati-directed film.

Balayya and Boyapati's spectacular commercial treat "Akhanda" has now run for 175 days at Chilakaluripeta's ramakrishna Theatre. According to reports, the theatre owners wish to commemorate the occasion privately, and Nandamuri balakrishna is expected to attend. Gone are the days when films were honoured for running for 50, 100, or 200 days.

Balayya's films like narasimha naidu used to run for 200 days in more than 50 theatres, which was a record at the time. Gone are the days of glory when a film running for four weeks in a theatre was considered a marvel. In these trying times, Akhanda's 175-day run in at least one theatre is something of a milestone. Of course, this is the time to say, "Jai Balayya." The clarity of being realy run is still not so clear and we have to hope it is authentic as the makers are advertising the same way.
