It is unquestionably a positive move to purge social media. Aside from the masks of secrecy, people are concealing. But what about the civility in political statements, particularly those directed against chief minister YS jagan Mohan Reddy? Today, during a public meeting in Uddhanam, jagan mohan reddy used language inappropriate for the post he occupies. He made personal remarks about Pawan Kalyan, referring to him as a "Package Star" and a "Family Star."
Jagan mohan reddy made some political remarks, which are acceptable. However, his name-calling belies the importance of the position he occupies. Mocking pawan kalyan in the name of marriage is nothing more than invading the private space of divorced ladies who live separate lives. But, as usual, the chief minister seems unconcerned. Sadly, this is not the first time, nor will it be the last. While there exist authorities to safeguard the chief minister and his family from social media trolls, who can protect others from the chief minister and his party's language?
A chief minister should serve as a role model for others to emulate the culture he represents. In Andhra Pradesh, however, the chief minister is the greatest troll.
