The telangana government has received a notification from the National Human Rights Commission over a complaint that claims female pupils in a high school in the nalgonda district face difficulties as a result of the absence of restrooms. The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) noted in a statement released on monday that, if accurate, the news report's contents amount to a grave breach of the girls' human rights.

According to the NHRC, it has "taken suo motu cognizance of a media report that the devarakonda Zila Parishad High school for Girls in nalgonda district is facing hardships due to the lack of toilet facilities."

According to reports, female students at Sulabh apartments reportedly began using the urinals, but they were forced to stop when requested to pay money. The females then began utilizing the free restrooms at the devarakonda bus Stop. But they were turned back when the management forbade them from accessing the restrooms," the statement read.

One of the fundamental services that the management of the school must guarantee and supply is the availability of restrooms for the pupils, particularly the female students.

According to the statement, "forcing the girl students to use the public restrooms available at the bus stops and outside the schools at Sulabh complexes raises many issues of grave recklessness about the safety and security of the female students."

As a result, the Commission has sent a notice to the telangana government's chief secretary, requesting a thorough report in four weeks. According to the report, actions done or suggested to be taken to ensure that such occurrences don't happen again should be included.
