P chidambaram, a prominent congress lawmaker and former finance minister, made a jab at the federal administration, claiming that the indian economy is in "severe distress" and that "the so-called doctors of the BJP" are indifferent. chidambaram questioned the assertion made by the bjp administration of narendra modi that the economy is in "robust health in 2023-24" in a post published on X on Thursday. As a "measure of the confidence" that foreign investors have in a nation, its government, and its policies, he quoted a 31% decline in net foreign direct investment (FDI).

"The bjp accredits itself with certifications. The congress leader declared, "Investors from india and outside must provide the proper certificate. "Household consumption is declining, unemployment is increasing, real wages are stagnant, and interest rates are high." These unmistakable indicators point to a seriously troubled economy. The congress politician remarked, "But the so-called doctors of the bjp do not understand or do not care."

Additionally, he claimed that throughout the previous three years, indian investors have shown little faith in the policies of the bjp administration. He claimed, "That is why the Finance minister (Nirmala Sitharaman) had to admonish them and, when that failed, beg them to increase their investments!"
