The bcci had asked for applications for the head coach of the indian men’s team role and there was as much as 3000 applications for the same. Inciedntally, the most substantial application has come from gautam Gambhir. According to a few sources from a reputable source in the kolkata camp, Gambhir is almost certain to be the head coach of the indian cricket team.
 
Gambhir's appointment as India's head coach appears to be only a 'formality'. According to sources, all that remains is for the formal announcement. Everyone saw the monster squad Gambhir formed with KKR, which easily won the IPL this year. This is by far the strongest squad in this year’s IPL and the way they performed is second to none.
 
Gambhir's no-nonsense attitude and champion mindset are precisely what india requires at the time. The attitude throughout the team has been pretty sombre of late with no genuine hunger.
