As of wednesday evening, the indian Meteorological Department (IMD)-Hyderabad has issued a red heat wave warning for several districts in telangana State for the next four days.
 
In addition to indicating a heat wave warning, the IMD-Hyderabad red classification also predicts warm nights with consistently high low temperatures and a very high risk of heat illness and heat strokes for persons of all ages. According to the IMD-Hyderabad, vulnerable age groups require extra caution.
 
Adilabad, Jagtial, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Karimnagar, Kumaram bheem asifabad, Mancherial, Mulugu, nirmal, nizamabad, Peddapalli, and Rajanna sircilla are among the districts for which a red alert heat wave warning is in effect through Saturday.

The districts for which warning of both heat wave along with warm nights has been issued include Adilabad, KumaramBheem asifabad, Mancherial, nirmal, nizamabad, Jagtial, Medak, kamareddy, Mahabubnagar, Rajanna sircilla, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalapally, Mulugu, bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanamkonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, hyderabad, medchal Malkajgiri, Vikarabad, Sangareddy, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet, jogulamba gadwal districts.

According to temperature data from the telangana Development Planning Society (TSDPS), several areas in different districts had temperatures above 44 degrees Celsius between tuesday and Wednesday.

Talamadugu, Adilabad, had the highest temperature at 44.7 degrees Celsius, followed by Menoor (Madnur Mandal), kamareddy district, at 44.5 degrees Celsius, and Pembi, nirmal district, at 44.4 degrees Celsius.  The highest temperature in asifabad (Kumram bheem Asifabad) was 44.2 degrees Celsius, while Kotgiri in nizamabad reached 44 degrees.
 
The highest recorded temperature in hyderabad during tuesday and wednesday was 42 degrees Celsius at l b nagar and 42.1 degrees Celsius at Jubilee Hills.  The average maximum temperature in several areas, including Uppal, Hayathnagar, Saroornagar, Rajendranagar, Goshamahal, Musheerabad, Amberpet, and others, was 41.6 degrees Celsius.  In one or two parts of hyderabad, the heat wave was so severe that the lowest temperature during the day was 41.0 degrees Celsius.
