Following specific intelligence inputs warning of potential terror strikes targeting railway infrastructure, Kashmiri Pandits, and non-local workers in the Valley, officials announced friday that a high-security alert has been issued throughout Jammu and Kashmir.

Senior officials say that intelligence suggests terrorist organizations have a concerted plan to launch "audacious" attacks in the next several days that will target non-residents, members of the minority Kashmiri Pandit community, security personnel, and infrastructure projects.
"In light of these inputs, all vulnerable locations are under close surveillance. Security presence has been significantly increased around railway stations, migrant worker accommodations, and areas inhabited by minorities," an official said. "Kashmiri Pandit government employees have been advised to work from home as a precaution."
To prevent any strikes, he said, security forces are undertaking intelligence-based searches and have stepped up area dominance operations. Electronic surveillance has been turned on in sensitive places, checkpoints have been expanded, and night patrols have been intensified.
