In the wake of Tuesday's terrible terror attack in pahalgam, south kashmir, which claimed the lives of 26 civilians, former pakistan captain shahid Afridi blamed the indian army for a security breakdown. Afridi stated in an interview with Samaa TV: "Patakha phat jaata hai wahaan par, pakistan ne kiya (Even if a firecracker bursts there, they will blame it on Pakistan)."

"Tum logon ki 8 lakh hi fauj hai kashmir mein aur yeh ho gaya. Iska matlab nalayak ho, nikamme ho na tum log security de nahi sake logon ko (Even with an army of 800,000 in kashmir, this still occurred.  If you are unable to provide people security, you are ineffective and worthless.)

Terrorists carried out one of the bloodiest strikes in the kashmir Valley since the 2019 Pulwama incident, which claimed the lives of 40 CRPF soldiers, at the Baisaran meadow in pahalgam on Tuesday.  At least 26 individuals were killed and numerous others were injured when terrorists opened fire on bystanders. The attack was claimed by the Resistance Front (TRF), a faction of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terror group, which is outlawed and based in Pakistan. people all throughout the world have strongly condemned the act.

Afridi also criticized the coverage of the tragedy by indian media.  "Hairat hoti hai ki hamle ke ek ghante ke baad hi unka media bollywood ban gaya. Khuda ke liye har kuch ko bollywood mat banao (It's surprising that within an hour of the attack, their media turned into Bollywood. For God's sake, don't make everything Bollywood)."
