A 50-year-old woman from Uttar Pradesh eloped with her 30-year-old grandson and married him in a temple in a case that has surprised everyone. To marry her grandson azad, Indrawati, a mother of four children—two sons and two daughters—left her entire family behind.

Before vanishing from the community, the couple visited the Govind Sahib temple, exchanged vows by applying vermilion, made seven rounds around the holy fire, and were married.

Both of them resided in Ambedkarnagar, close to one another.  For a long period, Indrawati and azad, her grandson via marriage, were romantically involved.  Because of their strong familial ties, no one suspected their relationship, even though they met often.

Chandrashekhar, Indrawati's husband, became suspicious after he overheard them conversing in private four days before their escape.  He vehemently objected to their affair and made an effort to get them to end it after learning about it.  But instead of listening, the woman and her partner carried out their plan.

To resolve the issue, Chandrashekhar even went to the police.  However, because azad and Indrawati were both adults with the freedom to select their partners, the police declined to lodge a case.

To get rid of her husband and kids, Indrawati even conspired with azad to poison them.

Chandrashekhar went on to say that Indrawati was his second wife and that their relationship developed as a result of his many excursions away from home for work.

Chandrashekhar, who is devastated by the treachery, has made the decision to declare his wife "dead" to him by performing her terahvi, a Hindu ceremony that is carried out on the thirteenth day following a death.
