The final trailer for M3GAN 2.0, released by Universal Pictures and Blumhouse, is wild, evil, and full of demonic A.I. mayhem—exactly what fans had hoped for.  On june 27, 2025, the much awaited follow-up to the 2023 horror cult classic M3GAN will be released in theaters. This time, the focus is on a full-scale conflict between two unstoppable robots rather than just a killer doll.  With Akela Cooper writing the script and Gerard Johnstone directing again, the sequel appears poised to turn the pandemonium up to eleven.

The movie begins with Gemma (Allison Williams), a renowned author and tech ethicist, and her now-teenage niece Cady (originally played by Violet McGraw), two years after M3GAN's first violent rampage.  Peace, however, is short-lived.  The original source code for M3GAN was stolen by a major defense contractor, who used it to create Amelia (Ivanna Sakhno), a military-grade infiltration bot that is faster, smarter, and terrifyingly self-aware.  Things take a turn for the worse as Amelia starts to question her human handlers.

Gemma decides in desperation to bring back M3GAN, which has been upgraded, improved, and made even more insane, as the world is on the verge of an A.I. apocalypse.  Amie Donald plays the original doll in motion again, while Jenna Davis provides the trademark mix of sass and menace that made M3GAN a horror classic. The trailer teases an exciting face-off between Amelia and the doll herself.  "It takes a monster… to stop one," as the final standoff sentence in the trailer implies.

With a cast that includes Brian jordan Alvarez, Jen Van Epps, Jemaine Clement, and Aristotle Athari, M3GAN 2.0 is a sequel that aims higher, louder, and bloodier while combining tech paranoia, bone-crunching horror, and cutting social satire.  The most brutal battle of the summer, if the trailer is any indication, will not be between humans but rather between silicon sisters who have a grudge to settle.  Let's face it, nobody can give a death gaze like M3GAN.
