The state's anti-corruption bureau (ACB) detained Nune sridhar, an executive engineer at the telangana State Irrigation & CAD Department, on tuesday on corruption charges after discovering that he had accumulated wealth much above his actual income.

Law enforcement agents claim that Sridhar's list of ill-gotten properties includes a luxury villa, four apartments, and 19 prime residential plots. They also claimed that Nune sridhar owns shares in a number of hotels in the state and allegedly spent crores of rupees on his son's destination wedding in Thailand.

Nune sridhar owns property worth hundreds of crores
A 4,500 square-foot apartment in the exclusive Sky High residential complex in Sheikhpet, Hyderabad, and three further apartments in karimnagar were among the disproportionate assets purportedly owned by Nune sridhar that the acb seized during a raid on 13 addresses connected to him on Tuesday.

In addition to cash, jewelry, and bank deposits that are wildly out of proportion to his income, the agency claims that sridhar owns a luxury villa in Tellapur, which is close to Hyderabad; three separate buildings in Warangal, karimnagar, and Hyderabad; 19 prime residential plots in the three cities; 16 acres of agricultural land; and stakes in several hotels in karimnagar that total several crores of rupees.

Sridhar was involved in a corruption case that toppled the kcr govt
Nune sridhar reportedly worked on the kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project, which is beset by corruption claims.  The PC Ghosh committee, which is looking into the project's purported flaws, has called in k chandrasekhar rao (KCR), a former telangana chief minister and leader of the Bharat Rashtra Samiti (BRS).

Even though the then-ruling BRS denied the accusations as unfounded and maintained that the project was constructed to advance the welfare of telangana residents, congress had identified corruption in the kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project as a significant issue in the 2023 state assembly elections.

The acb stated that Nune sridhar has been charged in a case involving disproportionate assets and that all of his financial and property records, together with transaction data, are being carefully scrutinized in order to identify any possible benami holdings and corruption in irrigation contracts that were under his supervision.
