🟢 What Is the New Feature?

WhatsApp is reportedly developing a native schedule message feature that will allow users to write a message ahead of time and choose a specific date and time for it to be sent automatically. This means you’ll be able to draft messages in advance — for example, birthday wishes or reminders — and whatsapp will send them for you at the chosen moment.

📱 Who Will Get It?

This feature is being built for Apple iphone (iOS) users and was spotted in the latest whatsapp beta version (26.7.10.72) distributed via Apple’s TestFlight programme — though it isn’t live for users yet.

🧠 How It Works

Here’s how the scheduled messaging feature is expected to function:

 1. Compose in Advance

You type the message in a chat just like any other message.

 2. Select Date & Time

After composing, you choose a future date and time for it to be sent.

📅 3. Automatic Delivery

Once the scheduled time arrives, the message gets sent automatically — without you having to open WhatsApp.

🛠 Manage Scheduled Messages

There may be a dedicated area where you can see pending scheduled messages and edit or delete them before they’re sent.

📍 Where It Appears in the App

Reports indicate that whatsapp could add a “Scheduled Messages” option inside the chat info screen — alongside options like starred messages and media statistics — where users can keep track of upcoming messages.

📌 Why This Matters

This is one of the most requested features by users because whatsapp currently doesn’t have a built‑in scheduler. Previously, iphone users could only rely on workarounds — like using apple Shortcuts to trigger a message at a specific time — which isn’t truly automatic or convenient.

Once official, this feature will provide:

  • ✅ Ease of sending time‑sensitive messages
  • ✅ Planning reminders, greetings, or work updates ahead of time
  • ✅ Fewer manual tasks and fewer missed messages

📅 Current Status & Timeline

At the moment:

  • The feature is still in development and under testing.
  • It’s not yet available to public beta testers or regular whatsapp users.
  • There’s no official release date from Meta yet.

💡 What Happens Next

Over the coming weeks/months:

WhatsApp may roll out the feature to public beta testers.

After testing and feedback, it should be made available in a regular app update for all iphone users.
