On tuesday morning, Garuda Aerospace's founder and CEO, Agnishwar Jayaprakash, received a very nice surprise. Elon Musk likes Garuda's new surya drone, which may potentially clean solar panels at Singapore's new floating solar farms, according to a tweet. With over 1 million impressions, the tweet has gone viral. Within 16 hours of Musk like the tweet, a Global Fund located in the united kingdom signed a term sheet for $1 million with Garuda to raise pre-Series A funding.

Elon Musk, the world's third-richest man, has increased his social media engagement in recent months. Jayaprakash shared a video showing the surya Drone cleaning solar panels with only 100ml of water, compared to 4 litres or more with traditional human techniques. He followed up with another tweet that included a video of an autonomous drone that could generate solar power from just 100ml of liquid.

"All because Elon Musk liked my tweet, I received a signed term sheet for $1 million from a Global Fund within 16 hours," Garuda Jayaprakash said. The surya drone, according to him, was recently deployed at the Virescent Solar facility in Rajapalayam, tamil Nadu. BHEL, NTPC, Adani, Avaada, and a slew of other solar industry behemoths have indicated interest in the technology. Garuda has secured a total of $5 million in initial investment, including this pre-Series A round.

Garuda Aerospace develops, manufactures, and customises unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for a variety of uses was founded in 2015. Despite the epidemic, the start-up has received over 400 government orders and $2 million in income this year. Garuda Aerospace intends to grow internationally after securing over 100 contracts from companies like Godrej, TATA, Reliance, ITC, Vedanta, and JWIL.
